The Stu Apte poster is really a continuation of the bright series but I'm painting famous anglers instead of famous fish. Stu is the third in the series, the first being Lefty Kreh and then Charlie Smith of Andros, inventor of the Crazy Charlie fly along with Bob Nauhiem. These are not computer generated images nor are they colored by the computer, they are completely hand done starting with a pencil drawing and then colored by hand. In this case you will notice all of the signatures along the bottom of the painting, these are the signatures of those who helped paint the painting, Stu, his wife Jeanine, my wife Jean, Clint Kemp our manager and partner at Black Fly Bonefish Club and writer/photographer and friend Mike Conner. We all sat around the dinning room table at the Black Fly Lodge in Abaco during a recent fishing trip and everyone picked a color and a place on the painting and we filled in the sections one by one. I did have to do a little finishing work at the studio in Florida but I think it turned out pretty good. If you're going to see Stu at any event, you might want to buy one and have him sign it.
