Sandy Point – 2 Panels
Oil on Canvas, 25” x 60” each panel
Prints on canvas available
Original Sold

Sandy Point is one of my favorite fishing spots in the Bahamas. When I got the commission to paint a scene of somewhere with cool, clear tropical water, I knew where I had to go. First of all, because I have part ownership in Blackfly Lodge in Abaco, this was the easiest choice of where to start looking. The second requirement for the commission was that the land part - the palm trees - had to be on the right with the expanse of ocean on the left. The reason for that was this was to be a two part canvas that was to wrap around at 90 degrees to each other in the corner of a dining room in upstate New York. Each panel was to be 5 feet wide. After 3 days on the water and lots of photos, I ended up in Sandy Point, some 15 miles south of the lodge, thinking maybe the shoreline there might give me the 'Island Palm Tree' shot I needed. The Sandy Point photos turned out to be perfect with one exception, the palm trees were on the wrong side of the photo. A quick horizontal flip in Photoshop solved that problem and I was off to the pencil sharpener to get the 20 #2 pencils ready to go.

These reproductions are available as Giclees on canvas only and can be ordered either as a set or individually. This piece was painted to be displayed side by side (shown in the top image). Each print is displayed in a larger size to show more detail. Reproductions on canvas can be any size you choose that is proportionate to the original (25 x 60 each panel) and the price depends on that size.
